What kind of laptop should I buy?

So far all I really know is i want something in the 600-700 dollar range, a sturdy and impressionable hard drive, and an AMD processor, cause I hear Intel is just talk. I am above average in knowing what I am doing with computers, I'm just not the good shopper as well.
