Having trouble joining goose and gander?
Bought a embden female goose from a bird swap today. Put her in with my embden gander, two toulouse ganders, one toulouse goose, ducks, and chickens. They seemed ok at first except for the fact that the embden gander would go out of his way to chase and nip her. I thought he would get used to her. But then the younger toulouse gander attacked her and wouldn't let go of her wing until I grabbed his neck. He managed to pull out a clump of feathers. I think the main problem though is the embden gander. The young toulouse gander is young and impressionable and not sure how to act. He was just copying the embden gander, except to a greater extent. I also think that the embden gander thinks the goose is a gander. She is very quiet and doesn't really talk yet. Does anyone know how I can get the embden gander to except the new embden goose?
